Religion and ethics

NSW public schools offer special religious education and special education in ethics, delivered by approved providers wherever available.

During enrolment, you can choose a special religious education option for your child from the school’s available approved providers. You can withdraw your child from special religious education by selecting alternative meaningful activities, or special education in ethics if it’s available.

You can update your preference by writing to the school or through the online form available at participating schools.

Religion and Ethics

At Richmond Public School SRE and SEE is delivered on Thursdays between 9.10am and 10.10am.

On enrolment parents/carers will be either asked to enorl online into the classes or obtain a SRE and SEE participation letter to be compleated and returned. After the initial enrolment, notification of changes to the student's enrolment in SRE/SEE should be given in writing to the office.

The following SRE classes are offfered at Richmond Public School:

Catholic SRE provider is provided by the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta (via St Monica's Richmond). For more information about Catholic SRE, please visit the Diocese of Parramatta https://parracatholic.org/ website.

SEE is provided by Primary Ethics. For more inforamtion about SEE, please visit the Primary Ethics https://primaryethics.com.au/ website.

During the time that SRE/SEE classes are being held, student not attending will be locatedin a seperate space and will participate in meaningful activies such as reading, private study or completing homework.
